Danielle McCoy is an Antiguan-born, multidisciplinary designer and artist currently based in Portland, Oregon. She is somewhat confused about the grammatical protocol of writing a bio (particularly if you’re writing this yourself), but assures you that she typically does not refer to herself in the third person.

Danielle doesn’t like her food too spicy (much to the dismay of her West Indian parents) and she could definitely work on her jump shot. But what she lacks in basketball skills and a quintessentially Antiguan palate, Danielle makes up for with self-awareness.

In the realm of graphic design, she predominantly focuses on brand identity, editorial, typography and art direction for commercial and cultural clients across various mediums. She believes that design should ultimately serve people by facilitating their lives, both in function and aesthetic.

In her art practice, Danielle is especially keen on examining the routine’s role as a foundational constituent of behavior, language, identity and institutions. It is through that lens she explores race, gender and culture.

She is presently making and learning and failing and growing at Wieden+Kennedy.
